Hellow hellow. I should’ve written a drawing post by now, but somehow editing the photos took more effort and will than I thought. So, I decided to just write this rambling to fill the gap. it’s a total rant, so if you maybe try to find a life lesson or something, you might be dissapointed. What I want to talk about is another one of my hobbies, make-up. Btw, saya pakai Bahasa campur2 ya, karena draft awalnya pakai enggres, tapi kok pas ngelanjutin lebih nyaman nambahin pakai Bahasa. Okay, let’s get to my rambling.
Most people who knows me personally will already understand that I love wearing, applying, and playing with make-up. Some of you may thought that people who loves make-up may have an inferior complex about their appearance. But I think that is a very skewed perception. I for one, love make-up because for me, it’s another form of art, not too different from drawing. I don’t have a problem with my bare face but putting on make-up almost always put me on a different mood. I can feel cute, I can feel professional, I can feel sexy, or I can be the fiercest woman with different kind of make-up. And you can just erase it in the end of the day. I also like helping other women (so far, it’s all women) putting on make-up, and seeing their satisfied faces is an incredible reward for me. I almost always refuse to draw on request but doing make-up for other people is definitely different. Saya selalu berkeyakinan bahwa makeup bisa menjadi suatu katarsis yang kita butuhkan untuk menyadari bahwa kita cantik, yang seringkali terlupakan saat wanita sibuk ngurusin keluarga.
One thing I often said in my drawing posts was that I have a little obsession with lips. Hence why I have too many lipsticks in my makeup collections. I always have a conviction that you don’t need anything else other than lipstick and a compact powder in your make up kit if you’re not too bothered with a complicated makeup style. You can just put lipstick on your cheek for a little blush, and sometimes even use it for your eyeshadows.
The other thing that I’m grateful for is a supportive partner. Sometimes my friends tell me that their spouses hated when they put on make-up. My husband on the other hand, doesn’t have any problem with me putting on make-up. Sometimes even giving me input about colours or style which he thinks looked good on me because he’s an artist in his own ways too, a digital one. He understands that it’s a part of my artsy side, and never even commented on my collection of lipsticks and eyeshadow pallets. He would just comment that he doesn’t like dark coloured lipstick but let me wear it nevertheless when I feel a bit dark, because he knows well that I wear makeup for myself, not only to look pretty, but also to express my feeling.
Setidaknya, pakai makeup ga mencemari kuping orang lain.
